Shirley Oswald Swanson, 93, of Minoa, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday. eleven grandchildren nine great-grandchildren extended family, Camey and Dave Huncovsky and Barbara Swanson. Hilbert is survived by his three children: David (Barbara) Swanson, Dewey, Ariz. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. Hilbert loved to entertain and had a special gift for telling really great stories. Their life together was filled with lots of family, great friends, golf games and card parties. In 1982, Hibby and Ardy retired and spent many active years between their homes in the Black Hills of South Dakota and Mesa, Arizona. During the 1970?s, Hibby joined Ray Moore in the oil business and they formed Comanche Resources. They had many successful years practicing law. He and Ardith moved to Dickinson in 1952, where he and his partner, Larry Greenwood, opened their law firm. Hilbert graduated from the University of Denver Law School in 1950. When he returned home, he entered law school. During one of these, he was wounded in action and received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, WWII Victory Medal, and other medals and letters of accommodation. During WWII, he was involved in key battles in Guadalcanal and other areas in the Pacific Arena. Shortly after their marriage, he was deployed oversees with the 164th Infantry. Hilbert married Ardith ?Ardy? Ruprecht in Miles City, Mont. Hilbert Swanson was born October 3, 1919, in Fargo, ND to Carl and Esther (Nygaard) Swanson. Inurnment will be in South Dakota at a later date. Survivors include Pauline of North Platte children, Renea (Tim) Rush of Grand Island, Todd (Kim) Aden of North Platte stepchildren, Jon Bargell of North Platte, Dana (Cindy) Bargell of Silverthorne, CO, Jennifer (Randy) Porter of Centennial, CO 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren siblings, LaVonne (Arlo) Banzhaf of Cambridge, Lynette Gunnerson of McCook, Dean (Gaylene) Aden of Kearney numerous other family members and friends. He was a meticulous carpenter, taking great pride in his work. As a carpenter, many people in North Platte and the surrounding area have the beautiful craftmanship of Ron’s work in their homes and businesses. Ron loved his children and grandchildren immensely and was so proud of all of them. Coming from a large extended family, many weekends were spent in Gothenburg and Brady enjoying family picnics, holidays, and celebrations. He spent 53 years hunting deer with the SAARG hunting group that grew from a small group of friends with campers to then include their sons and grandchildren, needing a more permanent structure in the canyons south of Gothenburg. Ron was active in many organizations including the North Platte Jaycees, North Platte Homebuilders Association, North Platte Ambassadors, and was an active volunteer for Nebraskaland Days for many years. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Ron married Pauline (Leech) Bargell on Septemin North Platte. In 1977, Ron started his own business, Ron’s Cabinet and Remodel, beautifying homes in North Platte for 32 years. They were blessed with four children: Tracey, Renea, Todd, and Patrick. In 1964 they moved to North Platte where he worked for Ozzie’s as a carpet layer and then for Cohagen Transfer & Storage. On July 30, 1961, he married Sharon Stull in Gothenburg where he worked for Jobman’s laying carpet. He then attended Kearney State College for several years. Ron grew up in Gothenburg, graduating from Gothenburg High School in 1957. He was born on in Cozad to Emil and Judith (Bratten) Aden. Ronald “Ron” Lee Aden, 82, of North Platte, passed away on Januat home.
